SENIOR BUYER


JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Corporate Purchasing Manager procures all raw materials and purchased component parts required at the Lindsay Facility with the goal of continuous improvement and the reduction of cost. The items under the responsibility of the Senior Buyer will be allocated by the Corporate Purchasing Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.The procurement and delivery of all designated purchased materials (stock and non-stock) to the Lindsay Facility. Develop purchase plans and alternative sources to insure supply at the lowest cost and best terms.
2.Reviews all invoice discrepancies for AP.
3.Prints, distributes and files all Purchase Orders.
4.Works closely with Sales and Marketing to develop and market new products.
5.Performs other special products as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum of 3 years in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
2. Must be experienced in MRP or MRPII systems.
3. Must be well organized and detailed minded.
4. Must have a sense of urgency.
5. Must be able to multi-task.
6. Must be able to work well with other departments
7. Good oral and written communication skills.
8. Excellent problem solving skills.
9. Good negotiation skills.
10. Well versed in purchasing fundamentals and policies.

PLUSES

1. College degree preferably in supply chain or business.
2. C.P.M. or A.P.P. certifications
3. Plastic industry experience
4. Prior experience in planning in relation to inventory requirements.
