Business Integration Analyst
Serves as business systems analyst to help ensure the tighest possible linkage between the organization’s business processes and the information systems that support those processes. Participates in the review and assessment of business area processes and systems in order to recommend technology changes to improve operational performance, address operational deficiencies or meet emergent needs. Works closely with business area managers and NSTAR Information Services to translate broad business objectives into meaningful specifications, systems performance requirements and maintenance plans.. Uses knowledge of the business areas’ operations to determine, coordinate and direct the implementation of new or revised IT technologies in support of business process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Partners with area managers to examine and document existing business processes and systems, analyze gaps between the current processes and the desired state and identifies areas for improvement.
•Gathers business needs and requirements for IT solutions by facilitating meetings, application/development sessions or other forums to define problem statements, process design or technology solutions. Along with the business areas, focuses on developing and improving business processes at all times.
•Participates in the evaluation and selection of systems applications, which support business processes and creates system enhancement strategies for the support of new business processes, procedures and standards.
•Develops system performance and functional specifications.
•Identifies ways to adapt new technologies to enhance the department’s objectives.
•Develops or recommends business and management information reports and data structures or systems to enable measurement of business results.
•Develops and provides training on applications. Communicates business and system application changes. Partners with area managers to ensure process issues are addressed.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
•Minimum of five (5) years business and technical experience. Requires experience with systems development methodologies, business systems requirements definitions, process engineering and project management.
•Excellent interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills. Must be results-oriented.
