Business Development Manager for Federal Contracts
THE CENTECH GROUP, Inc. has set a goal to triple its personnel size by the end of 2009. To meet this goal, the company is investing in business development managers to help grow its business. The right candidate for each position will have sales experience with one of the following four agencies or combination of agencies:
PVN 1204 – NOAA
PVN 1205 – DOC/Census
PVN 1207 – DHS/CPB
PVN 1208 – Veterans Affairs
There are also two opportunities for individuals who have a broad range but in-depth sales experience with DoD and Civilian contracts:
PVN 1394 – Civilian Federal Agencies
PVN 1395 – DoD Agencies
All the positions have the same requirements and critical job elements, indicated below.
FIVE CRITICAL JOB ELEMENTS
1. Define, maintain, and report activities on productive new business capture activities with potential clients. Must meet annual criteria established in BD Bonus Program, to include winning 3 contracts as Prime and 2 as Subcontractor per year.
2. Expand, create and manage executive interface working sessions between CENTECH management and the management of potential clients.
3. Identify client needs, position CENTECH as the preferred vendor for client opportunities and manage the client to ensure most favorable procurement approach for CENTECH.
4. Define, maintain and report activities on productive relationships with firms to position CENTECH as the subcontractor of choice for opportunities the firms currently service or desire to service.
5. For target clients, fully understand the competitive environment, budget, preferred contractors, selection criteria, teaming, and other factors to ensure CENTECH maximizes the number of targets pursued and the potential success of each.
REQUIREMENTS
The right candidate will have at least five years experience managing multi-task contract vehicles in the Federal market providing support to clients in a competitive task environment. He/she will have the following;
•Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining customer relationships.
•Demonstrated success in defining, developing and implementing strategies to introduce new service offerings to clients.
•Understanding and success in managing a wide variety of IT service offerings to clients in a task order environment, including:
1. LAN/WAN design, implementation and support;
2. Mainframe operations and systems programming support;
3. Mainframe software development and maintenance;
4. Client/server software development and maintenance;
5. Inter/intranet applications development and maintenance;
6. Training, including development and delivery using ISD methodology;
7. Database design, development and administration;
8. Business process modeling, and implementation of business process improvement; and
9. Information security including assessments, design, implementation, administration and audit.
•Proven ability to personally plan and implement successful proposals.
•Proven ability to define work breakdown structures for tasks, estimate skill levels required and effort required for each skill level.
•Successful experience in managing customer expectations to mitigate potential or actual high-risk situations.
•Proven ability to develop meaningful professional’s relationships with clients including “trusted advisor” on developing customer plans, participation on strategic committees, etc.
•Proven ability to attract and retain high caliber professional leaders and staff in required IT disciplines.
•Proven ability to work and manage his/her department in a corporate team environment where his/her staff skills contributes to corporate new business development efforts as required.
•Excellent verbal, presentation and writing skills.
PREFERRED
• Demonstrated ability to successfully grow business in a competitive task order environment multiple times original value to 25+ final sizes.
• A well respected reputation with the client as a supporting contractor or government manager.
• If not experienced with assigned clients, bring reputation and contacts from other clients that can help CENTECH GROUP penetrate and expand its services into new client areas.
• Outstanding reputation in IT technologies related to services CENTECH GROUP provides to clients now that can substantially enhance our reputation and ability to increase our market share in the client market.
• High-energy person with manifest leadership capability and understanding of the latest in information technology.
