As SMART continues to experience increased growth, the firm's business development model has become increasingly important. We are seeking a top performing Business Development Manager for Tax Services. As a rapidly growing Practice, this position requires a highly skilled, seasoned Business Development Manager like you for the Baltimore, D.C area. Position Summary: The primary focus for this position is to develop high- level relationships with the corporate and divisional executives. The ultimate goal is to develop targets into long-term revenue generating clients through strong relationships for Tax Services.


Position Responsibilities:

Build relationships with key executives to generate and develop ideas, pursue opportunities and close engagements
Driving targeting efforts primarily for Tax Services
Create strategic and tactical plans to uncover and close a range of revenue projects
Leverage relationships to introduce SMART and create selling opportunities, coordinating efforts across multiple functional groups and all levels of the client's office
Ensure that all Business Development is conducted within legal parameters, and promote and maintain a positive image of SMART
Developing and utilizing pre-existing network of clients or contacts in the tax services marketplace

Manage proposal development and make presentations that win new businesssJob Requirements

Demonstrate superior knowledge and execution of the sales process and consistently apply the sales process in pursuits

Minimum of 10 years success as a relationship and/or business development manager selling professional services into complex clients
Significant level of relationship and business development experience and proven track record in selling tax consulting services
Superior written and verbal communication skills with ability to create and write proposals
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
Ability to motivate and lead
Candidate from a Big 4 or Fortune 500 environment is preferred
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field
