Manager Business Development - SAP

Our client, a privately held, Bay Area based high tech company specializing in performance management software is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to support the execution of the company's 2006/2007 Business Plan. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to leverage existing skills/relations to achieve significant impact and high visibility within an entrepeneurial organization that encourages leadership, teamwork and open communication; fosters innovation and creativity and promotes the higest ethical standards and business principles. There's a strong preference to attract top talent that currently either works for SAP or has worked at SAP in the past.

Opportunity and Objectives:
Business Development Strategy
Develop, maintain, communicate and execute the company's Horizontal/Partner Marketing and Management strategy;
Lead efforts to enhance the sales potential for significant Business Development and Enterprise Sale Pursuits via Technology Partner relations;
Lead efforts to create new Business Development Pursuits in new markets, new geos (geographical regions) via Technology Partner relations;
Lead efforts to convert Technology Partner Business Development Pursuits into Enterprise, Field, or Channel Sales opportunities;
Leverage Technology Partner relations to drive deeper account penetration into existing customer base, shorten sales cycles and accelerate revenue generation;
Drive thought leadership in selected domains and geographies using Technology partner positioning, messaging and marketing;
Synchronize company's marketing, sales campaigns to maximize on Technology partner marketing and sales momentum.
Work with company's Product Management Committee and Technical Steering Committee to leverage Technology partner platform;
Synchronize roadmap with Technology Partner roadmap for products, vertical campaigns, and Go to Market initiatives wherever applicable.

Customer Relations
Manage relations with various global Technology Partners, including but not limited to, communicating company's Product Roadmap, New Product Introductions, Integration Support, End-Use Customer Commercial/License Agreements;
Facilitate Technology Partner specification, project management, acquisition, and implementation of company solutions into significant End-User customer Solution;
Drive Technology Partner participation in the Industry UG (annual meeting, meeting preparation, etc.)

Partner Relations
Maintain strong business relationships with key existing Technology Partners and collaborators;
Prioritize, establish and maintain a strong relationship with Technology Partner selected Field and Subsidiaries;
Identify and cultivate new opportunities with the existing Technology Partners and collaborators;
Evaluate and cultivate new Technology Partners that can help us strategically build and deliver Enterprise solutions;
Leverage the Technology Partner Ecosystem to refine, and select key strategic partners in selected domains and geos;
Create and maintain a 2-year Business Plan including resources with the Technology Partner with Executive Level commitment from both sides;
Elevate company profile within Technology Partner community from a good partner to a "industry maker" who is a must have in the business discussions. [Evangelize](/li>

Marketing
Identify, evaluate and communicate Technology Partner related market opportunities
Drive the content for marketing campaigns for Technology Partner/EA related activities (brochures, sales tools, white papers, PowerPoint's, success stories, business cases, press releases, events etc.);
Help formulate and communicate key industry messages to a variety of target audiences (collaborators, partners, industry analysts, industry groups, etc.);
Communicate industry specific product needs to the product marketing team and software development team (part of this will now come from the SIG)

Internal Organization Collaboration
Ensure sales team understands all of the Technology Partner market opportunities, issues, appropriate partners (training, webinars, one-on-one meetings, etc.)
Increase Field Sales and ESE awareness of the Technology Partner usefulness for joint pursuits.

Note: Local candidates preferred, though relocation assistance will be available for candidates out of state.
REQUIREMENTS
5 to 7 years of business development and/or marketing experience in hightech;
experience working for enterprise application software companies;
experience working for SAP (SAP America, SAP Labs) highly preferred
