Modotech, Inc is an insurance technology firm specializing in processing systems for insurance companies and general agents. The selected candidate would join a small group of software developers and insurance professionals in expanding and supporting our core product.

This position involves business analysis, development of specifications, test plan development, and implementation, customization and user support related to web-based property and casualty applications used by multiple clients. The selected candidate will be responsible for spearheading projects consisting of adding or modifying functionality; changing rates and rating methodology; implementing new products and/or markets as well as generating management information and preparing standard and custom reports.

The goal of the selected candidate is to quickly become acquainted with current applications in order to facilitate rapid, effective growth into new markets and lines of business as well as supporting growth and stability in existing markets.

This is a telecommute position. A location in the Philadelphia area would be preferred.
REQUIREMENTSAt least three years experience in IT, actuarial or underwriting departments for an insurance company or licensed insurance agent credentials required.Ability to write Transact SQL queries for Microsoft SQL ServerKnowledge of HTML, ColdFusion, and Visual Basic is a plusExtensive ability to use Microsoft’s professional office suite—Word, Excel, and AccessProven ability to assess underwriting manuals, rate filings, and agency guidelines to extract underwriting edits and rating algorithms.Understanding of insurance terminology including "earned premium", "risk", "triangles", "contingent commission", "loss adjustment expense", "subrogation".Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical contacts is essential.Demonstrated project management abilities to coordinate and complete multiple complex and extensive projects concurrently with minimal supervision.Ability to work independently in a telecommute position.B.S. in Business Admin, Economics, Mathematics, Information Technology or related field is desirable Benefits:
