BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Business Development ManagerCompTIA, an IT industry trade association located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, has an opening for a Business Development Manager – Finance, with focus on the IT OEM/Channel. Successful candidates will be highly skilled sales professionals who are most comfortable and successful consulting with the executive level prospect or client. They will meet and exceed corporate goals through development and implementation of strategic sales plans. The role requires the BDM to own the sales process from account identification and qualification, strategy, proposal, reporting and closing phases.
Major Accountabilities:
• Manage consultative sales engagements from start to finish, independently or as part of a team.• Assume responsibility for all client contacts in assigned engagements.• Consult with client to identify and define client business need, determine a solution, and develop ROI proposal for client review and acceptance.• Perform the level of analysis necessary to produce solutions that satisfy client requirements; documents and present findings to client; and gains client acceptance of deliverables.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets. Stays current and knowledgeable on all CompTIA product and service offerings.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals.• Proactively identify, locate, and qualify new business leads.• Establish & maintain industry contacts leading to specific business opportunities.• Create and pursue sales leads, including leveraging of other CompTIA support resources as required.• Represent the association at qualified industry meetings/events to promote CompTIA services.• Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner.• Own the sales/proposal process and is the owner of the proposal and any contact/correspondence with the client/prospect.• Successfully and professionally deliver presentations to key clients.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
• Must demonstrate strong initiative with ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Must have ability to self manage work load and handle multiple enterprise accounts and work with people at all levels of an organization;
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
• Solid understanding of business dynamics and financial planning, and create and drive revenue within a specified vertical;• Generate business opportunities through professional, dedicated prospecting and cold-calling.
• Develop strategic vertical business plan and own the sales cycle - from lead generation to closure;
• Maintain account and opportunity forecasting within CompTIA internal CRM system.• The position requires a high level of business practice consultative skills, coupled with an aggressive passion for results.Candidates must: possess a bachelors degree and at least 5 years of professional services consulting/sales experience within the information technology or related space; be a strong team-player; have experience in structured solution sales methodology (complex sales); possess impeccable client-facing skills including verbal presentations and written documentation; be highly organized and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously; travel is a requirement; domestic and possibly international; business acumen; experience selling at the “C” levels a plus.
