About the Opportunity

Our outside sales Technology Specialist collaborates with our b2b sales professionals to bring a deeper level of office product business solution knowledge to our customers and prospects. As our Technology Specialist, you'll perform consultative tasks independently and as part of a team to qualify and grow technology sales opportunities with Fortune 1000 companies. You'll routinely interact with customers and make important contributions to the sales process and strategy when called into accounts by the sales representatives for technology resources. You'll clearly articulate the value of OfficeMax's technology solutions and quantify the financial benefits derived when choosing OfficeMax over the competition.



Other areas in which you'll be able to showcase your talent include:Developing technical strategies to deliver OfficeMax solutions that support business objectives within assigned accounts;Delivering ongoing formal and informal training and product positioning that helps customers understand the operational, financial, and business impact of OfficeMax's solutions within their practice area;Analyzing customer's business objectives by asking probing questions that are relevant to the customer in order to collect information from customers and enable the sales team to be more effective and responsive to customer needs;Based on customer's objectives and personal experience, configuring solutions utilizing OfficeMax's products and services to provide customers and prospects with value towards achieving their objectives;Assisting sales reps with the development of the technical aspects of new business development campaigns; andOwning the technical solutions and ensuring that what is proposed to the customer is what is delivered.

Bachelor's degree (strongly preferred);2+ years of successful outside sales experience selling to large corporate customers (Technology products and solutions, hardware, software, computer peripherals or transferable industry experience preferred);Proven success in developing new business and generating sales leads (30% new business/70% existing) by managing a territory and selling activities (assigned account responsibility with a corresponding technology product quota).Ability to understand the needs of an IT decision maker and how our products and services will assist IT decision maker in accomplishing their goals;Ability to identify and build relationship with not only customers' key decision makers, but also other political influencers in the company as well as OfficeMax counterparts; Expertise in achieving revenue goals and managing a sales territory (valid driver's license required; minimal overnight travel may be required);Awesome record of maintaining a sales pipeline to achieve goals and maintain quality customer relationships and gain referrals for new customers;Unparalleled problem-solving and negotiation finesse;Relentless customer service to effectively interact with all levels of an organization;Superior PC skills utilizing MS Office products, email, and other proprietary software; andTenacious desire to win.
