Associate, High Volume Trust Tax

We are currently seeking a Tax Associate to join us in our East Providence office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate basic understanding of client's business, products, performance and tax accounting policies

Assist/prepare tax returns, including calculations/preparations of extensions and estimates, and correspondence with tax agencies

Gather data and conduct research on basic to moderate assignments

Responsible for 1,500 Trust Tax returns

Prepare tax compliance, checking, classifying and compiling information within a previously defined framework

Prepare claims on taxable income, deductible expenses, relief’s and allowances

Keep Senior Associate/management informed of progress/significant developments

Support Senior Associate/management in work assignments

Develop, motivate and train less experienced staff members

Design and execute training plan for self-improvement

Develop industry specific knowledge and updates skills on tax matters
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited college/university

One year of current and/or recent tax experience

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, with strong proficiency in Excel

Able to meet challenging client requirements and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of Internal Revenue Code
