The position is also responsible enhancing the understanding of Moody’s views on regulatory oversight with particular focus in the South American Regulatory community. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches regulatory issues and proactively communicates these issues to the SVP of Regulatory Relations. Interfaces with the legal departments as needed to facilitate internal reviews. Drafts preliminary responses to regulatory request for comment. Participates in and performs special projects as assigned. Assists in the planning and coordination of visits of senior executives to key policy makers. Ability to work well independently and with others in a matrix environment. Ability to read, analyze and interpret laws, rules and regulations.
Responsibilities particular to South America:
Develops and maintains productive relationships with local regulators, internal Moody’s management and relevant external parties. Monitors the relevant existing and prospective legislation which may impact Moody’s business activities in the Latin American region. Acts as the primary contact for Regulatory Affairs issues for the assigned region. Collaborates and provides advice and support to Moody’s Latin American business unit management relating to regulatory aspects of expansion into new countries.

REQUIREMENTS
Advance degree, preferably in law. Minimum of 3 - 5 years of work experience wither in regulatory relations or law in the North and South American Regions. Bi-lingual: English/Spanish. Familiarity of banking regulations, security law, to include their interplay with the credit markets a plus. High level of integrity. Strong orientation to deadlines and details. Ability to exercise good judgment. Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload. Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
