We currently have a career opportunity at our Madison, NJ headquarters for an Associate Director, Business Applications within the Business Process & Information department of the Sales & Customer support organization.
The Associate Director is a champion for reporting and business applications initiatives working jointly with IS and functional management. This person will manage and supervise a team of three analysts responsible for both reporting and analytics as well as project management of all business- related activities required for systems implementations. This includes facilitating and gathering business requirements across all commercial functional areas and assisting in the translation of those requirements into high level specifications for system implementations and enhancements. The Associate Director will represent the business by working with IS to set the direction on upgrade strategies and future releases for software and then will collaborate with IS for project planning & implementation. Incumbent will be responsible for assisting in setting the strategic direction for Wyeth Consumer Healthcare?s (WCH) reporting and analytical capabilities, partnering with IS to ensure the business strategy is in sync with the overall systems strategy. Systems include order processing (JDE and SAP), CRM and trade funds management (Siebel), product information management (Velosel), reporting and analytics (Microstrategy, Cognos, SAP BW and other tools as necessary).
Additional Responsibilities:
Work with senior-level functional management to gather ideas and concerns with regard to new development areas.
Maintain an effective and supportive environment for the discussion of systems and application opportunities.
Define long-term information strategy in conjunction with IS and manage overall project portfolio to ensure alignment with divisional goals and ensure that timelines are being met.
Support business process change projects through support of systems implementations/enhancements, reporting, and assisting with some process design.
Provide business leadership in system testing, including, coordinating user acceptance testing and developing user acceptance criteria and test scripts.
Manage a team of three direct reports.
Includes all aspects of personnel development including objective setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and resource alignment based on project portfolio.
Provide direction to the business analysts to ensure consistency of testing methodologies, data quality criteria, and sharing of best practices across systems.
Collaborate with other divisions to identify best practices & share ideas.
Coordinate with training personnel to ensure functionality is rolled out and reinforced correctly.
Ensure software releases are coordinated between IS and user community, taking into account business activities and appropriate timing.
Assess reporting needs across division and make recommendations for improvements that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the field and home office business functions.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, Advanced degree/MBA preferred
10+ years of overall work experience including five + years of CPG industry experience required
5+ years supervisory experience required
5+ years project management experience required
Business process analysis, systems analysis, user acceptance testing & implementation experience
Knowledge of software development life cycle and user acceptance practices and methodologies.
Ability to discover data anamolies and maintain data integrity
Extensive reporting and analytical experience
PC proficiency in MS Office products & expert knowledge of computer software, including end-user query and data-mining tools
Demonstrated organizational, follow-up, strategic, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent presentation, facilitation, negotiation, collaboration and communication ability
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously & critically assess pertinent information changes
Must be flexible and able to travel.
