Primary products include vinyl siding; vinyl, wood and aluminum windows/doors; decking, fencing, and rain carrying gear. Other products may also be sold, depending on need of local market, including such things as carpeting, power tools and metal forming machines.Outside Sales Representative - Birmingham ALThe Sales Representative reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for selling siding, windows, and other exterior building products to remodeling and new-home contractors.As a leader within Owens Corning, an individual must demonstrate experience at being - and holding others - accountable for working safely while providing appropriate resources to ensure incident-free operations. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience at driving for a vision of zero injuries, zero defects and step-change productivity by ensuring alignment with and supporting the Company’s vision and values.Duties & Responsibilities: Fully participate in all aspects of company Action Selling program.
Represent the company's product lines by calling on existing accounts and seeking to establish new accounts of builders, remodelers, architects, exporters and contractors.
Explain product features, systems, construction, pricing and installation.
Provide sound customer service by following up after sale to ensure customer satisfaction on product quality, delivery, and installation.
Prepare customer quotes using predetermined guidelines on pricing.
Conduct market research to determine trends in construction, competitors' products, and code requirements.
Communicate results to location manager.
Assist builders by training them on calculation of window openings for different construction techniques. Assist measuring/estimating quantity of siding and soffit required for a particular product.
Maintain awareness of building code requirements on our products and advise customers accordingly.
Evaluate field claims on product defects or installation and resolve.
Assist office staff on resolving billing and credit disputes with the sales representative's customers.
Represent the company's products/services at home shows and industry expos.The successful candidate will also:

Facilitate a culture that develops and leverages customer relationships along with fully supports community partnerships and involvement for the facility and its employeesEssential Physical
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be able to go into a customer's place of business or site. This will occasionally require traversing uneven terrain typical of a construction site.
Must be able to pick up and carry sample products of moderate weight in order to demonstrate the product features to the customer.Candidate Qualifications:
4 year college degree preferred
Minimum 3 years direct sales experience, preferably in the building products industry.
Must be able to demonstrate mastery of Action Selling Skills through testing after participating in the appropriate Action Selling modules training.Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basisOwens Corning is an equal opportunity employer.
