We currently have an opening for an Area Facilities Manager, who will be based in Atlanta, GA 30336. This position will be responsible for maintaining Iron Mountain facilities across all business lines within their assigned areas in accordance with Iron Mountain standards. Scope of the assigned area typically encompasses several contiguous states and includes approximately 70 facilities. The annual business revenue generated by the business activities for the facilities within assigned responsibility is half of the area’s revenue.

Examples of the major areas of responsibility include: acting as a resource for district management in areas of facilities; ensuring that all fire protection and security systems are installed properly and in accordance to applicable building codes & standards; validating contractual responsibilities of landlords for building repairs and maintenance; touring and conducting facility audits; coordinating activities pertaining to leasehold improvements and building construction; planning and budgeting capital projects; administering the capital expenditure requests (CER) process; participating in any OSHA related issues to expedite correction of building or safety related issues, supporting real estate with new building site selection and construction.

REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required, preferably in Construction Management, Architecture, Facility Management or Engineering. A minimum of five years prior business management, property management or construction management experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge of industrial warehouse, mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems is required. Experience in managing construction to include construction document review, contractor selection, bidding, bid analysis, project management, punch list review and move-in coordination is desirable.

Other requirements include:
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Knowledge of Building Codes and Fire Codes.
•Ability to climb several levels of storage system catwalks to adequately inspect facilities.
•Exceptional proven and effective analytical skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
•Capable of interfacing well at all levels vertically and laterally within a large organization and client base.
•Ability to lift and carry cartons of business records weighing approximately 35 lbs.
•Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and Power Point.
•Exhibited and proven oral and written communication, leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.
•Commitment to follow through and complete assigned actions

Travel requirements are at least 50% overnight travel.

A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening and background check is also required.
