Account Manager is responsible for the following:Proactively calling on prospective customers and developing leads for new business.Increasing sales of new prospective customers within assigned territory.Increasing sales to existing customers.Developing and managing customer relationships to insure customer satisfaction.Managing BASF profitability at customer accounts in conjunction with commercial support group.Effectively interfacing with other key BASF business areas – product management, technical service, commercial support, global accounts teams, etc.

Please note that the ideal location for this position is in the Midwestern States (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois)
REQUIREMENTS


REQUIRED:  Must possess a broad knowledge of BASF products and organization, automotive OEM and/or Tier markets, competition and customer base.  Must be able to assert BASF’s interests and arrive at mutually agreeable goals and targets with the customer; to interact and successfully negotiate at various levels throughout the customer’s organization; to influence and lead the BASF organization to ensure customer expectations are met; to lead and supervise associates in account management functions, and customer field Technical Service functions. Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business discipline with commensurate work experience.  Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
