Tissue Specialist /QATechnician

Immediate opening for a Tissue Specialist in the Orange County area within the biomedical industry.
Temp-to-hire
Wednesday- Sunday, 1st shift
Pay Rate: $16-20/hrPrior experience within a tissue or blood bank is preferable.1.Performs environmental monitoring in the process facility.
2.Is responsible for the documentation, packaging and shipping of all samples to testing facility.
3.Notifies Purchasing to order all necessary supplies to carry out the quality technical functions (environmental contact plates, strips, bioindicators, etc.).
4.May be responsible for verifying units produced match sterility swabs supplied to the testing lab.
5.May track incoming environmental data and may be responsible for contacting the testing facility regarding results.
6.May perform monthly trending / reporting of nonviable environmental testing data.
7.Inspects documents and dispositions all incoming raw materials used in the processing, labeling, and shipping of tissue/devices at the facility.
8.Must be capable of working with calipers and other measuring devices.
9.May maintain the incoming raw material quarantine areas.
10.May be responsible for storing and using relevant supplies in accordance with FIFO (First In, First Out), and used within the expiration period.
11.May write, revise or contribute to raw material specifications.
12.May enter raw material purchasing / inspection data in QAD.
13.May document refrigerator/freezer temperatures of QA supplies and notify supervisors for any out of specification readings.
14.May ensure that all instrumentation used is currently calibrated.
15.Writes non-conformances for position-related issues.
16.May take X-rays of tissue grafts and distribute copies to the appropriate personnel.Job Qualifications (education, certification, experience, knowledge, skills, physical requirements)1.Minimum one-year experience in GMP or FDA-regulated operation.
2.High school diploma. Some college preferred.
3.Must be willing to work extensive hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. This will be regulated according to the workload and/or the On-call program for the cleanroom environmental testing.
4.Must be computer literate.
