Job Description:

Design, implement and deliver Bayer Molecular product training for TRUGENE and bDNA assays, instrumentation maintenance, and supervise customers during all training phases. Perform grading and mentoring to TRUGENE HIV-1 trainees for proficiency and FDA Certification requirements. Lecture trainees, lead group discussion and supervise hands-on training.

Advise sales account managers/ TSS's as to training performance of in-territory customers. Follow-up contact with trainees to improve effectiveness of future training and training materials, and to learn how training is being applied in practice. Maintain lab facilities, and conduct VIP visit when needed.

Continuously monitor the effectiveness of the training program. Work with team members to update and modify the training programs and materials in response to needs. Maintain a current, high level working knowledge of all Bayer Molecular products and systems through review of all relevant product information and participation in product support teams.

Order and maintain laboratory supplies and ensure on-schedule instrument maintenance. Assemble syllabi and visual aids for training session, prepare specimen, equipment, and work stations in laboratory for training session. Communicate customer requests and requirements. Contact trainees to learn of any special training requests to be covered.

Provide as-needed training at customer site.
REQUIREMENTS


BS and Clinical Laboratory Scientist license, Medical Technologist (ASCP) or BS degree in related sciences

3 - 6 years experience in molecular biology / pharmacogenomics (laboratory or field) or a B.S. or M.S. in the field of Training with at least 3-6 years experience in the clinical laboratory environment.

This position requires strong platform skills, a thorough understanding and practice of principles of adult learning, working knowledge of instructional design, strong written and oral communication skills, and proven interpersonal skills.

Prefer experience in molecular techniques (including PCR, Sequencing) with understanding of complex assay principles as well as the mechanical components of analyses. Requires excellent customer relation skills and the ability to react quickly to customer needs. Requires a thorough understanding of laboratory practices and procedures.

Extensive laboratory experience in the diagnostics industry. Knowledge and experience to analyze and troubleshoot bDNA assay and equipment.

Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills are necessary to establish and maintain respect and an ongoing professional rapport with the customer.
