Sr. Production Chemist

Sr. Production Chemist Under minimal supervision, the Senior Production Chemist carries out the synthesis, purification and analysis of complex organic compounds following released procedures; possesses the ability to simultaneously work on multiple batches of high complexity; recommends process improvements; exercises considerable judgment and initiative in resolving chemistry problems; effectively documents work and has the ability to write and revise technical documents; participates effectively in Process Excellence initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean); interacts effectively in a cross-functional environment.

The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline and 3+ years industrial laboratory experience; in-depth knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry; extensive knowledge of laboratory instrument operation including HPLC and NMR; the ability to interpret data and troubleshoot instrument problems; extensive knowledge of safe lab practices and hazardous waste disposal; ability to implement safety corrective actions and perform safety audits.
