Sr Clinical Research Manager
Minneapolis, MinnesotaThis position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage people, deliver on multiple clinical projects, and drive business initiatives. This person will be the clinical representative on a therapy team and oversee project plans and develop clinical evaluation projects; this includes oversight on clinical strategy, investigation clinical plan, and conducting clinical studies on products and/or therapies that have been determined to satisfy a medical need, reimbursement and/or commercial potential. This person may serve as medical/scientific consultant to marketing or research project teams and government regulatory agencies. This person will be required to monitor and/or interpret results of clinical investigations in preparation for new-drug, therapy or device application and establish the conditions essential for determining the safety, efficacy, medical usefulness, and marketability of drug, therapy or medical device product. This person must possess strong presentation, communication (oral and written), leadership skills and develop customer relationships.
Performs the following tasks independently:
• As a representative on a therapy team you will be expected to attend regular team meetings and provide updates, contribute to the therapy team’s strategy, and assure that the clinical strategy aligns with the therapy team strategy• Manages and provides leadership for clinical study personnel conducting clinical programs which may require facilitating successful interactions with key functional groups which may include Quality Control, Research Scientists, Biostatistics, Data Management, Product Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, Reimbursement, Finance, Legal and Regulatory Affairs• Frequent contact with equivalent level managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications. Conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives
• Responsible for all projects assigned to the section(s) or department(s). Acts as an advisor to subordinate supervisors or staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Directly participate in establishing and administering all aspects of multiple functional projects
• Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization and provides leadership and strategic oversight in the determination of study objectives, strategy, scope and schedule in order to meet business needs• Assignments are received in objective oriented terms. Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization’s objectives and schedules
• Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards
• Authors/co-authors results of studies in the medical literature and/or presents at scientific meetings
• Establish operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate organizational units. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies
• Manages talent (direct reports) through coaching, mentoring and training, sets objectives and completes performance reviews
