The Sr. Accountant supports the accounting department by performing general accounting duties as specified below.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Support implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance by performing risk assessment on business processes in key areas such as revenue, purchasing, treasury, information systems, inventory, and corporate governance; implement as new acquisitions come on board. (est. approx 50%of time)
Perform gap analysis and recommend control mechanisms;
Assist in establishment of guidance and internal controls and evaluate risk exposure by performing interviews and data analysis;
Business partner with sales admin on revenue transaction processes
Calculate commissions
Assure Abiomed Sales Tax compliance
Assist in monthly closing process
Analyze and reconcile GL accounts balances.
Provide accounting support to various departments within the company; this includes communicating effectively with department managers, reviewing cost center account coding, preparing reclassification journal entries, analyzing and preparing accrual journal entries, and preparing departmental reports.
Participate and support quarterly reviews and annual audits of the Company’s financial statements.
REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
5 - 8 years experience with a public company
Audit experience for Sarbanes-Oxley internal compliance
CPA desired
Public accounting firm experience desired
SAP experience desired
