Software Engineers needed!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.This position requires an individual capable to multitask between agency certification development and application development. Certification development requires the analysis of system infrastructure and detail agency specification, developing compliant biometric files, and using proprietary and third party tools. Application development comprises the implementation of customer applications to provide solutions for the customer’s ability to have biometric information provided for a variety of solutions, from transmitting electronically, reporting, to display traceability and other internal processes.

Agency certification tasks:
•Analyze agency specific electronic fingerprint submission specifications to determine requirements for compliance for certification of electronic fingerprint files to the agency.
•Interface with agency representatives to certify, test and answer any questions about the specifications.
•Develop the User Interface and field validations using proprietary scripting language and some Visual C++•Maintain legacy submission using Visual Basic.
•Analyze and develop solutions to support a variety of networking requirements to successfully communicate with the receiving agency.
•Must have good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and agency officials
•Must be able to work with diverse personalities
•Must be able to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
•Must have strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
Software Development:
•Design and develop C# and .NET applications for Windows, web services, windows services
•Must have expert knowledge in SQL Server and relational database
•Must have expert knowledge of C++ and Visual Basic for legacy application
•Assures architectural integrity; Participates on code review, deployment, testing, and technical deliverables
•Participate in project planning, estimation, solution design, communication/facilitation
•Participate in requirements and design review
•Participate in code reviews; perform unit testing, document code•Works within development standards & best practices
•Must be able to write clear technical specifications documents
•Strong listener with willingness to learnCustom software support tasks:
•Support sales to technically define custom software requirements for customers.
•Write functional specs for customer software requirements.
•Design solutions to support customer network requirements.•Educations and/or Experience:•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
•Minimum 5 years experience in Software Development•Solid understanding of product life cycles and the role of requirements capture and requirements management throughout the product life cycle.
•Experience with object oriented design and programming.
•Experience integrating COM objects into software.
•Experience working with different network and e-mail protocols (i.e. ftp, smtp, nfs, …).
•Experience with law enforcement / government systems desirable.
•Experience with fingerprint biometrics desirable.
•Experience interfacing to different databases desirable.
