Summary:

My client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage the payroll function and perform monthly accounting tasks and activities. Located in South Boston, MA, the company manufactures, sells and distributes a rapidly expanding line of medical devices for repair and replacement of failed human tissues and organs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll: Responsible for all aspects of ADP payroll processing system and preparation and Transmission of bi-weekly payroll files to ADP. Reconcile payroll accounts (labor, medical, dental, 401k match, and flex spending) at month-end and ensure information is accurately entered into the Company’s accounting system. Cash Processing and Reporting: Post cash receipts from checks and credit card payments received by the Company. Reconcile all accounts receivable activity on a monthly basis General Ledger/Other: Assist in year end audit and periodic audits conducted by the Company’s outside auditors. The duties will include assisting with the month end close, reconciliations, analysis, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries, among other assigned tasks. Maintain the chart of accounts. Set up new accounts, departments and project codes as needed. Fixed Assets: Responsible for all fixed asset activity including physical verifications, compliance with established policies and procedures and monthly depreciation entries Cost Accounting and Taxes: Responsible for verifying the accuracy of the monthly inventory values File quarterly sales and use tax returns

Qualifications:
The candidate will possess the following: Thorough knowledge of ADP payroll for windows and recent experience utilizing ADP in a hands on environment Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of five years relevant experience Knowledge of Peachtree desired but not required Attention to detail and accuracy is essential Self starter, motivated to learn and grow Ability to take on additional responsibilities as the Company grows Strong Microsoft Excel skills
