Our client, a leader in the drug delivery system industry, is currently seeking a Senior Principle Engineer for a direct hire position in their greater Chicagoland facility.Job Description
The software technical lead will provide technical leadership role for a team of software developers on medium to large scale software projects, holding the team to established milestones and schedules. The software technical lead will define and analyze software requirements, working closely with cross functional groups including system engineering, hardware engineering, project management, quality, and regulatory. This position will be responsible for coordinating technical feasibility studies and providing input into software sizing, estimating and planning activities for the software organization. The software technical lead will perform architectural and detailed design using object-oriented methodologies and participate in coding and verification activities as required. This position will act as a technical reviewer as required on project deliverables and will provide guidance and mentorship to other software engineers. Other responsibilities include: Ensuring compliance with FDA, corporate, and divisional standards as applicable, providing input to and participating in software process improvement activities, and providing leadership on cross-functional project problem analysis and design improvements.Candidate Requirements:
' BS or MS in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science with 10 or more years experience in the design and implementation of complex embedded software systems' 5 or more years of experience leading software teams on medium to large scale projects utilizing formal object oriented methodologies. 'Demonstrated understanding of the software development lifecycle for real-time systems
' Strong experience in C/C++, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, UML, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Defect Tracking and Traceability
' Experience with embedded software design tools, emulators, automated software testing tools, electronic test equipment (scopes, logic analyzers)
' Strong team player, able to meet deadlines and handle changing priorities
' Good hardware interfacing background and extensive system integration experience with microprocessor hardware and software.
' Experience in resolving complex technical problems using strong analytical skills
' Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
' Must be proficient at time management and multitasking
' Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to define role and responsibilities, assess competency levels and propose development enhancements
' Knowledge of FDA and ISO 14971 quality system regulations as they apply to medical devices
