Research Scientist

Battelle is a world leader in science and technology research. Our International Technology Assessments (ITA) Product Line specializes in providing support to clients engaged in national security. ITA is seeking Biomedical Intelligence Analysts to work at a client's on-site facility in the Metro Washington, DC area for full-time, regular shift work. A full benefits package will be provided.

Position Responsibilities

The Biomedical Intelligence Analyst I will conduct research, perform analysis, complete classified analytic products, maintain metrics on production, and brief on the products. Senior staff members will provide work direction, as well as review analyses and results. The position involves applying fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to conduct a variety of intelligence analysis projects; capturing information and data regarding intelligence needs of clients; analyzing and synthesizing information as needed. Research and analysis will require the development of complex data query strategies and the application of an array of emerging information technologies developed by Battelle. The analyst may also be required to support an operations team as a desk/watch officer supporting combatant commands during a health crisis.

Required Qualifications

1. Four to eight years of Medical Intelligence Community or all-source intelligence analysis experience.
2. The candidate must possess a Bachelors degree.
3. Familiarity and previous use of analytic tools and exposure to new analytic methodologies is desired.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. General knowledge of US foreign policy.
6. A thorough knowledge of U.S. regulations governing intelligence operations, especially intelligence information security.
7. Experience working with complex structured and unstructured databases.
8. Developed data mining and medical information analysis skills.

Desired Qualifications
1. Fluency (DLPT 3/3) in at least one foreign language, especially Arabic, Farsi, or Chinese.
2. A degree in a natural science or health discipline.
