Registered Nurse Infection Control Coordinator

A registered professional nurse responsible for the development and coordination of an effective, active hospital-wide infection control program in accordance with JCAHO and legal/advisory agencies and community standards of care. Provides surveillance, in order to identify, investigate and record data concerning nosocomial infections and is directly responsible for initiating infection control measures as directed by the Infection Control Committee. Serves as a consultant to Human Resources for Employee Health. Implements and monitors OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standards. Participates in performance improvement activities hospital-wide. Serves on all relevant committes. Will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing with a current Texas license as an RN, Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred. Two years minimum previous work experience in a related field is required. APIC certification desirable.
