Quality Control Technician (MT)

Responsibilities:
•Daily quality control of manufactured product (cord blood for storage) including
oABO/Rh testing
oFlow cytometry assay for CD34 positive cells
oHematology cell counts
•Operation of flow cytometers, hematology analyzers, osmometers
•Operation of other laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators
•Routine quality control and problem-solving of laboratory instruments
•Routine quality control of blood bank reagents
•Routine quality control of monitored storage devices such as refrigerators and freezers, including liquid nitrogen freezers
•Calibration of pipettes
•Review, revise and create Standard Operational Procedures
•Participate in training quality control to others including new hires
•Perform quarterly environmental monitoring of the manufacturing area
•Perform raw material testing
•Perform basic laboratory calculations
•Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
•B.S. degree required
•MT registered with greater than 2 years clinical laboratory experience
•Experience with aseptic technique for processing blood
•Knowledge of GTP and cGMP
•Basic math skills, able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and solve simple math problems
•Able to read and follow detailed Standard Operational Procedures
•Blood Bank, Hematology and/or Flow Cytometry experience preferred
