QC Analytical Chemist

A unique industry leading dietary supplement company currently in advanced FDA-supervised Phase III clinical trials for cancer therapy has an opening for an Analytical Chemist in its QC department. Our company has an on-site R & D lab and offers a complete stability in-house program and all finished products will undergo pesticide, heavy metal, and microbiology testing prior to release by the Quality Assurance Department. Analytical Chemist will perform Quality Control functions including monitoring in-process testing, packaging compliance, raw material testing, and validations relevant to SOP for our clinical trial.

Duties include:
• Routine & non-routine analytical testing.
• Excellent Problem solving required for R&D, Process and Production.
• Development and improvements for existing methodologies, method validation, introduction of new instrumental technology, and providing expert technical support for product/process chemistry issues.
• Responsible for QC testing (HPLC, GC/MS, ICP, Hg analyzer), operation, maintenance, and trouble shooting. Other duties will include various preparation of samples, food preparation for pre-clinical studies in collaboration with a major medical center in New York City, travel will be covered.
• Excellent record keeping for validation by FDA onsite inspections.
•Periodic off-hours coverage and travel to NYC may be required of this position, expenses will be covered.

REQUIREMENTS
A successful candidate will have:
• BS/MS Chemistry (or similar) with 1-2 years of Analytical experience (HPLC, GCMS). Experience with heavy metal analysis is a plus (ICP, Hg Analyzer).
• To exhibit a high level of knowledge in chemistry, is detail oriented with a broad understanding of chemical analysis and analytical techniques.
• Must be very self-directed and have very good problem solving skills.
• Must have excellent communication skills, be willing to learn, and train others while working in a team oriented environment.
• Timeliness and professionalism is an absolute requirement.
• 1+ experience as an apprentice/trainee with an analytical chemist preferred.
• Food/Drug/Cosmetic Experience preferred cGMP experience a plus but not required.
