Project Specialist (Clinical Drug Development)

The clinical division of MedFocus is currently in need of two Project Specialists, to work for an established pharmaceutical company in the northern suburbs of Chicago. This is a long-term, contract opportunity, with an expected contract length of at least 1+ year.

Duties:
The successful candidate is responsible for the coordination of various project activities in relation to milestones and go/no go decision points, and for communicating the progress of projects to senior Project Management leaders. Responsibilities will include: Assist the Senior Project Manager or Associate Director in setting project strategy, goals, priorities and long-term project plans and schedules; Meeting coordination and back-up facilitator at global project sub-team meetings or work group meetings; Manage the logistics of a Global project sub-team (GPST), plan appropriate meeting schedules and ensure communication of all meeting plans to GPST members; Provide appropriate minutes from the various project-related meetings and work groups; Assist in the coordination of global activity with Japan and the Global Research Division (US & Europe) for the development and global submission approvals for the compound; Assist the Senior Project Manager in identifying and resolving scientific, regulatory, commercial, scheduling and budget issues related to the project; Assist in the monitoring and management of the project progress, schedules and resources to produce results defined in the CDP/Clinical Development Plan; Help maintain the Clinical Development Plan (CDP); Utilize project tracking information to identify and resolve project progress/issues; Coordinate data collection from clinical, finance, clinical supplies and vendor management to support the Budget Workgroup. Less than 10% travel required.
REQUIREMENTS
BS/MS in a relevant scientific discipline is required
2+ years of drug development experience within the pharmaceutical industry
1-2 years of clinical research experience
Excellent problem solving and strategic thinking skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task
