Job Description
The Process Development Technician works on projects of moderate scope in which analysis of data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine experimental actions. Normally receives instructions on routine work and experimentation.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs all routine laboratory/production-scale procedures. Involves some diversified and complex duties requiring some independent judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles in the work area.
Conduct analytical work to support Upstream and Downstream efforts.
Requires a basic application of the theories and principles utilized in assigned tasks.
HPLC analysis, gel electrophoresis of proteins and nucleic acids, protein assays, UV/VIS spectral assays and immunoassays.
May perform experiments of a relatively complex nature without assistance, making decisions on operating conditions, maintenance and safety.
Responsible for executing general work (e.g. purification measurements) as directed by supervisor.
Collects and records data in a manner consistent with established development procedures or cGMP requirements. Performs general mathematical calculations required by experimental protocols.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness/safety and organizational levels consistent with laboratory or cGMP departments as needed.
Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to Cambrex Bio Science policies batch records, SOPs/DOPs and GMP standards.
Identify problem areas affecting experimentation/operations and offer suggestions for correcting problems and for improving operations.
May be required to cross-train in other departments. REQUIREMENTS
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related science and 0 - 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to work well within project teams and must be able to establish a good working relationship with co-workers, supervisors and various departments at Cambrex Bio Science Baltimore, Inc.
Ability to adhere to batch records and SOPs/DOPs.
Must be able to understand the theory and rationale behind tasks performed.
