Operations Technician (142521-551)

Job Description

The Operations Technician will be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of products used in clinical research in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.




Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performs perfusions of human and animal livers to obtain viable hepatocytes.

Performs screening, feeding, passaging, harvesting and cryopreservation of cells.

Performs primary isolations of other specific cell types from human and animal tissues.

Utilizes aseptic technique in product handling.

Performs isolations in a Laminar Flow Biological Safety Cabinet.

Assists in maintaining lab in good working order, which includes operation and maintenance of equipment (centrifuges, microscopes and incubators).

Prepares media and other materials used in production processes.

Performs general laboratory cleaning and maintains logs.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field with 1-2 years cell culture/biology experience required. (Years of experience may substitute for education in some instances.)

Knowledge of cGMP preferred.

Written and oral communication skills to include accurate and legible documentation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented individual with independent work skills and a strong work ethic.

Organizational, record keeping and excellent time management skills desired.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule (the normal working hours for this position are 12 Noon to 8:30 pm).

Occasional overtime required.

Mandatory on-call duty (evenings and weekends) for at least 1 week every month.
