Immucor has immediate opening for a fulltime position in Bulk Manufacturing at its Norcross, GA location as a Manufacturing Technician of the Bulk Manufacturing Team.
Manufacturing Technician performs a variety of manufacturing tasks associated with the production of Immucor reagents including processing raw material, performance of filtration, assistance with cleaning and sterilization of glassware, and assistance of technologists with the dilution of final products.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)Performs the preparation of diluents, dilution of product, pre-filtration and post-filtration samples for culturing, unit weight determination (30% of assigned tasks)
2)Prepares chemical solutions including weighing chemicals (both liquid and dry) and mixing components according to the SOP (20% of assigned tasks)
3)Performs clerical checks for co-workers including verification of volumes and weights (5% of assigned tasks)
4)Performs setup and filtration of products in the absence of the filtration technician or when directed (5% of assigned tasks)
5)Performs cleaning, disinfecting and storage of glassware/containers in the absence of the glassware technician (5% of assigned tasks)
6)Accurately completes paperwork with minimal corrections (2% of assigned tasks)
7)Assists in troubleshooting problems which occur in the production flow (2% of assigned tasks)
8)Maintains chemical inventory and maintenance of the Chemical Log Book (5% of assigned tasks)
9)Performs routine maintenance including assigned room/area cleaning/disinfecting, DI water system maintenance (WS001 & WS002), disposal of contaminated waste (15% of assigned tasks)
10)Assists in the preparation of components, bottles and tanks for Serum & Red Cell products (10% of assigned tasks)
11)Assists in the training of new employees or when directed (1% of assigned tasks)
REQUIREMENTS
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
