Typical duties of an Engineer, Process Technology include:

Design experiments to reflect both small and large-scale manufacturing systems. Author experimental plans, experimental reports and trial authorizations. Execute experiments, plant trials and plans for improving the processes at the Gibson City Solae Site.
Design process improvements to meet technical needs. Includes the creation of mass balances, process flow diagrams, and cost estimation for modifying processes. Lead Capital Projects (<$100M) and support larger Capital Projects (>$250M) definition and implementation
Continuously build a body of technical knowledge around Solae unit operations and processes.
Develop and communicate variances and provide improvements in operating standards and equipment to meet Solae goals on quality and productivity.
Develop ideas to improve overall plant performance using sound engineering sciences. Analyze data for ongoing operations to provide direction on upgrades for improving quality and cost.
Lead site specific programs or projects leveraging site, global and external resources. Exert personal influence cross functionally to define solutions to technical issues.

REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of :
Theories, principles, methods and procedures of applicable field of engineering
Statistics and experimental design
MS Office package including Visio
Process Safety Management (PSM) principles
Safety practices and policies
Specialty Emphasis Networks
Quality Systems policies and procedures
SAP systems and capabilities

Ability to:
Design and manage projects
Collect, process and analyze data
Develop creative solutions to complex research problems
Communicate effectively both in writing and orally
Execute six sigma methodology
Work effectively both independently and within teams
Define process improvements for FPFQY or productivity
Lead incident investigations
Lead PHAs/PSSRs
Support specialty emphasis networks
Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Chemical, Food, Biochemical, Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering
Three years of Process Engineering duties with applicable unit operations (extraction, separation, sterilization/pasteurization, drying, etc.)
