Ecological Risk Assessor

Candidate should have experience conducting ecological risk assessments for government or private clients. Consulting experience is preferred, but state or federal agency experience is also acceptable. The candidate should be a fully-competent scientist in all conventional aspects of the subject matter; must have strong understanding of ecological principles and environmental chemistry or toxicology.Important to have ability to perform statistical analyses, present numerical data, and synthesize information. Position will work with a team of scientists to analyze site chemical, physical, and biological data according to state, federal and other technical guidance for preparation of ecological risk assessment reports.Supports and potentially manages project investigations related to ecosystems (aquatic studies, water quality sampling, soil, sediment, and biota sampling, wetlands investigations, etc.), works as part of a team to develop cost estimates, schedules and approaches for proposals and projects, and participates as a task manager to deliver these work products.Must be able to work under minimal-to-general supervision, independently evaluate, select and apply standard scientific techniques and procedures. May provide some technical guidance and help train/mentor junior-level staff.Client and agency contacts are generally limited to routine information collection and dissemination. Expected to contribute positively with client relationships, business development and repeat business opportunities.




job Requirements



BS or MS degree in Biology or Ecology, Aquatic Toxicology, Environmental Sciences, or other science-related discipline (MS preferred).

Experience Requiring a minimum of 9 to 14 years of experience.
