Director of Research and Development

Leading developer of digital medical systems is seeking a Director of Product Development and Research. This position is responsible for leading the technical development and management of the company's portfolio of projects and products throughout their full like cycles.



Primary Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the development of new products as determined by the company's product development plan. Managing technical staff to ensure that projects are clearly defined and the expectations for deliverables are met.

- Prepares and actively manages departmental budgets and investments.

- Builds competencies in engineering and program management areas through training and coaching.

- Assist and coordinates with Manufacturing for development of process, tooling and testing to efficiently produce high quality products.

- Responsible for contributing to the strategic plan, and the tactical macro projects that are apart of building and running a fast paced high growth company.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

- An advanced technical degree (MS/MBA/PhD) or five years relevant experience; with a good business sense and an infectious entrepreneurial spirit.

- Solid track record of leading successful software & hardware development projects for international OEMs

- Experience in leading development projects in an ISO and CMMI certified environments

- Min. 5 years experience leading teams to deliver innovative, high quality software based solutions to market with project average cycle times of less than six months

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

- Desire to travel including internationally (5-18%)



Organizational Relationships:

Critical member of the executive leadership team reporting to the President, managing three directs reports, and a team of software & hardware engineers, program/project managers, and technicians.
