Data Management Material Master Analyst
Shoreview, MinnesotaLead the effort in implementing global standard processes and policies to ensure consistency of financial material master data across Medtronic systems. Partner with a team of cross-functional individuals throughout Medtronic to identify opportunities for process and system improvements as well as define and develop strategies to address those opportunities using Lean Sigma or other process improvement methodology. Identify/understand issues and develop innovative, value-added solutions to address those issues.
Responsibilities: ? Partner with financial and I/T resources in various business units and geographies to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial-related data across SAP, Enterprise Product Registry (EPR), and legacy manufacturing and distribution systems.? Partner with the Central Data Administration group to develop robust processes to drive changes to material master fields in SAP, EPR, and legacy systems. Monitor, review, and schedule change control requests to financial data and communicate changes to appropriate contacts in a timely manner. Develop improved processes for expediting data changes. Establish metrics to determine root causes of change requests, report progress of changes implemented, identify problematic areas, and provide recommended improvements.
? Facilitate the annual operating planning (AOP) process by developing and communicating key milestones for the yearly financial data changes in SAP, EPR, and legacy systems. Ensure previous lessons learned are implemented and make recommendations for improving future year-end activities.
? Gather and evaluate EPR functionality to determine ability to eliminate the EPR system. Develop processes to transition required functionality into SAP’s capabilities.
? Document interdependence of financial material master fields on SAP downstream. Educate business units and geographies on the key material master fields and impact on financial data integrity.
? Work with global process teams on special assignments as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION:? BA/BS in Accounting or FinanceMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:? 3 - 5 years experience with combination of systems and finance support
? Solid background in accounting and IT? Understanding of ERP systems
? Understanding and application of cost accounting and transfer pricing? Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
? Strong written and oral communication skills? Strong organization and prioritization skills with ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
? Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office package (Excel - including use of macros and lookup tables, Access, Word,)
? Ability to take ownership/charge of projects and drive to completion? Ability to interface in a team environment with various levels of the organization
? Lean Sigma or process improvement methodology
? Ability to identify change and influence others
? High integrity and self-confidencePREFERENCES:
? Strong knowledge of financial material master fields in SAP including MM, FI, CO.
