Whether you prefer day, evening or night shifts, Maxim has the solution for you.Job Duties / Details:This individual will serve as a Medical Technologist in the Chemistry Section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.He/she is responsible for performing a variety of standardized routine and specialized tests, evaluating abnormal results, using and maintaining equipment, and setting up and monitoring elements of our quality control program. The tests and analyses on urine, blood, serum, plasma, other body fluids, involve both manual and automated procedures.The individual will perform calibrations and troubleshooting tasks on instruments/equipment as required.
As established by procedural protocols, the technologist is responsible for performing specialized testing in support of routine patient care. Basic chemistries include metabolic, general health, electrolyte, comprehensive metabolic, lipid, hepatic functions, diabetes panels, etc. Testing platforms involve manual and automated methodologies that include but are not limited to immunoassay chemistry, ion selective electrode, chemical reactions, and microscopy.
As established by protocols, the technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized immunological procedures such as group specific immunoglobulins, complement components and serum protein electrophoresis.
As established by protocols, the technologist is responsible for performing all major analytical functions and specialized tests in the urinalysis section of a clinical laboratory. Using manual and automated technologies, urine specimens are evaluated through chemical reaction and microscopic analysis. The section is responsible for routine and STAT testing.The Chemistry section is equipped with ROCHE Diagnostic instrumentation. We currently have the ROCHE Modular system to include the MPA, 3 P-Modules, and 1 E-Module as well as the Elecsys 2010. Additionally, we use an INTEGRA 800 for HgA1Cs and immunochemistries, as well as a SEBIA analyzer for electrophoresis, along with 2 CCX Blood Gas Analyzers.Hours of operation: The clinical laboratory is a 24/7 operation. We have 3 shifts. The individual will work the day shift: 7:30am-4:00pm, M-F with an occasional weekend rotation.
