Celsis International plc is a leading microbial detection and analytical services company operating through two divisions, Celsis Product Group and Celsis Laboratory Group. The product group is seeking an energetic, assertive, sales management professional to take the role of Business Development Manager and help pioneer the sales growth in both in the domestic and international market. They are looking for an individual comfortable dealing at a senior level with their customer base to drive the worldwide implementation of their rapid detection systems.

Using its proprietary enzyme technology, Celsis Product Group is the world leader in providing diagnostic testing systems for the rapid detection of microbial contamination in consumer and pharmaceutical products. Celsis’ current extensive customer base includes Pharmaceutical companies (Wyeth, GlaxoSK, McNeil), global Personal Care companies (Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive, Procter & Gamble) and large Dairy and Beverage companies (Dean Foods, Pepsi) who use its testing systems to ensure the safety and quality of products bound for consumers.

In addition to ensuring product quality and safety for consumers, the product group delivers substantial cost savings to their customers. Traditional agar based detection methods consume 3 to 7 days whereas the Celsis’ rapid detection systems provide results within 24 to 48 hours. By reducing the time it takes to test and release raw materials and finished goods to the market place, rapid detection systems facilitate increased manufacturing productivity through substantial improvements in working capital and more efficient supply chain management. The successful communication and marketing of these cost savings is critical to the success of selling these rapid detection systems.

Responsibilities:
•Reports to VP of Global Product Sales
•This position will be primarily focused on growing top line revenue through new instrument sales by developing new business in current and new market segments on the Western half of North America
•Strategic marketing and business development focused on growing the company’s presence in the personal care, pharmaceutical, vaccine and biologics marketplace
•Ability to present value to production/operation managers in manufacturing facilities
•Conduct business with various types of manufacturing sites (local, global)
•Provide a consultative sales approach by emphasizing value-added sales, service and financial savings
•Conduct professional presentations to multi-functional division personnel
•Ability to travel (Approximate: 25% to 50%)
•Submit timely call reports, sales forecasts and sales reports

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
•Strong background in closing capital equipment and new business sales in North America
•7-10 years new business outside sales experience within the life sciences, pharmaceutical or medical/capital equipment industries preferred
•Demonstrable top performance in a similar role
•Experience working in a high energy environment
•Outstanding closing skills
•A professional demeanor coupled with an enthusiastic personality
•Previous experience selling value-based propositions using ROI models
•Successful candidate will know how to communicate expectations regarding performance and hold people accountable for results. He/she will also have high expectations regarding their own performance
•Team player
•Excellent problem solving, time management and account management skills
•Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Contact Management systems
