Biology Applications Scientist for microscopes (SPM/AFM)
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITES:The Biological Applications Scientist position requires demonstrating the benefits of Scanning Probe Microscopes to life sciences applications.
Primary responsibilities will consist of demonstrations the SPM and working closely with the sales team.
Good communication skills are necessary to provide detailed information about the technical aspects and benefits of SPM to beginners and experts in the field. Further responsibilities will include conducting AFM workshops, contributing to exhibitions and scientific conferences, performing sample measurements/reports for customers, advanced trainings, and cooperation with marketing, customer support, and engineering applications teams. Travel is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Conduct AFM product demonstrations for potential customers and work closely with sales team (40%)
Perform sample evaluations and generate analysis reports (20%)
Participate in AFM workshops and attend scientific conference exhibitions (20%)
Provide support and advanced training to other departments and customers. (20%)
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Experience using SPMs in a biological related field; graduate level research preferred.Degree in life sciences, graduate degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
•In depth knowledge of SPM principles and practices.•Familiarity with techniques/equipment used in cellular and molecular biology•Solid understanding of biological applications of SPMs.•Good oral and written communications skills•Enjoy working with customers in the demo lab and in the field•Strong organization and project management skills.•Self-motivated and able to work effectively both on teams and independently.
