Biologist/Senior Project Manager

CH2M HILL’s Oakland, CA office has an opening for a Biologist/Senior Project Manager.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage small to large size projects or tasks related to: wetlands regulations; preparation of technical reports; analysis of impacts of projects on biotic resources; development of mitigation and monitoring plans.

The Senior Project Manager (PM03) position is the third level of the project management career path. The PM03 is a marketable project leader whose personal professional experience provides an advantage to the firm in competing for major and complex projects. The PM03 is capable of being a leader in sales efforts for projects for which he/she is proposed. The PM03 is the leader/manager of project teams and is supported by technical task leaders as needed. Specific responsibilities include leadership in the application of CH2M HILL’s Project Delivery System to achieve the following project delivery strategic objectives:
Health, safety, environmental responsibility
Client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget
Financial performance for project-specific targets
Project team expectations
Operational performance and business unit expectations
Quality
Specific duties include planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff. The PM03 is a participant in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance. Additionally, the PM03 is responsible for the identification of schedule and cost variances and the development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for negative variances.
The PM03 also has a responsibility to help grow the PM resources of the firm through coaching of PM01s and PM02s, and participating in the development and delivery of PM-oriented learning events.




job Requirements


A BA/BS degree in Biology or related natural environment field.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years applicable experience in biological surveys, environmental analyses, and permitting related to the Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, Section 1600 of the CA Dept of Fish and Game Code, Sections 7 and 10 of the Federal Endangered Species Act, The California Endangered Species Act, and California Environmental Quality Act.
