Bio-medical/Clinical Engineer

The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of specific medical equipment and systems used in the clinical setting. Maintains an inventory of replacement parts. Assists with medical equipment evaluations, selections, recalls and alerts. This position does not provide direct patient contact. Carries out daily activities under indirect supervision of the Director, Facility Operations.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma. Biomedical associates degree required.
Two year technical diploma. Internship in Biomedical department.
Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates proper use of tools, equipment and other techniques common to operation, maintenance and repair of assigned equipment. Demonstrates ability to learn and apply new skills as necessary. Demonstrates ability to utilize critical thinking (problemsolving) and prioritize requests with patient safety foremost in mind. Demonstrates computer interaction skills necessary to perform duties. Demonstrates ability to work independently.
