BTEX ANALYST

There is an immediate opening for a BTEX Analyst in the Phoenix Laboratory. This position is a full-time, hourly position. The selected candidate will have a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Overtime may be required based upon business needs. The BTEX Analyst reports directly to the Organics Manager.

The responsibilities for this position are as follows:

*Perform a variety of EPA Methods 8015B/8015AZ to determine and evaluate chemical and physical properties of laboratory samples
*Carry out detailed preparation and analysis steps according to published analytical methods and standard operating procedures
*Perform second level review of data, ensuring data meets quality control criteria
*Calibrate GC instruments
*Perform routine maintenance on instrumentation
*Comply with all Quality Assurance and Health & Safety policies
REQUIREMENTS
The qualifications for this position are as follows:

*B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or related field , and 6 months laboratory experience
*Familiarity with EPA Protocols preferred
*Have strong organization and documentation skills including an attention to detail
*Strong communication skills, including both verbal and written skills
*Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends
*Have a sense of urgency and able to work and multitask under time constraints
*Work productively in a team environment, contributing to the team’s goals and deadlines
