BGA Repair Technician

SUMMARY Responsible for removing and placement of all types of BGA devices. Experience inrework of fine-pitch SMT assemblies including BGA parts, and manual dexterity neededfor such rework are required.
Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signalgenerators, logic analyzers, and with soldering equipment. Perform troubleshooting ofcircuit boards including microprocessor circuitry and digital logic, as well as analog andpower circuitry. Perform repair and rework of circuit boards, and generate/updaterework documentation. Perform tests, including verification and validation tests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may beassigned.
Creates thermal profiles for removing and replacing BGA devices using the Summit1100 semi-automated rework system running on the SRT software system.
Knowledge of the process differences between both leaded and lead-free devices.
Understands how to read X-ray images of BGA devices.Ensures that the Summit 1100 semi-automated rework system operates as efficientlyas possible using rational working methods.Ensures that BGA products and parts are handled in the appropriate manner andensures that all subsequent documentation is maintained and updated.
Responsible for the quality of the BGA part or module manufactured in cooperationwith Quality, immediately reporting any quality problems to the person in charge of thatfunction.
Ensures that all ESD rules are followed in the BGA repair area.
Responsible for scheduling maintenance on the Summit 1100 semi-automated reworksystem.A+ Certification and/or training a plus!
