CH2MHILL's Northeast Region is looking for a talented junior/mid level Aquatic Biologist to join our Environmental Business Group. This junior/mid level position will focus on supporting Section 316 (b) projects for phase II plants in the power industry and eventually phase III plants in other industries. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the evaluation and mitigation of impacts to aquatic organisms. Tasks in this role are expected to include the analysis of impacts to aquatic organisms, review and interpretation of regulations, development and preparation of technical reports, and development of restoration plans. The selected candidate may mentor more junior level individuals, will be expected to contribute positively to the development of client relationships, and will be expected to apply their knowledge to support a broader range of projects for our growing ecosystems practice in the Northeast Region.

job Requirements


Basic Qualifications :


Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Aquatic Biology or Environmental Science,

At least 3 years of professional experience in aquatic biology with specific application to 316(b).

Preferred Qualifications :


Preferred candidates will have both there Bachelors and Masters Degree in Aquatic biology or Environmental Science.
Preferably, candidates will have 3 years of professional experience in applied aquatic biology with direct experience in the area of industrial water quality permitting and compliance, particularly as it relates to the power industry.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Section 316 (b) including Phase II rule impingement/entrainment studies, restoration approaches, and a working knowledge of technological and operational modifications needed to meet permit requirements.

Candidates with excellent oral and written communication skills are essential as well as experience in environmental consulting.
