Our client is a drug discovery and development company. They currently have a number of compounds in the clinic and others still in the research stage.Impact/Level of Responsibility:
Provides key insights into the direction of research within work group.Demonstrated ability to generate project momentum.Knowledge of project-related disciplines, such as; medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and biology.Reads and understands project-related literature outside their immediate area of expertise.Thorough understanding of the relationships between different fields as they relate to drug discovery.Writes and assembles sections of scientific papers and presentations as required.Complexity of Interactions:
Range of contacts and influence outside of area, particularly with chemistry, pharmacology, biology, and development colleagues.Proactively establishes collaborations with colleagues in other disciplines and small external collaborations.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both in written and oral form, the strategy of their own work group and how it relates to the overall project.Leadership:
Routinely detects, recognizes and effectively communicates trends or external information that could affect the specific project or technology area.Brings forward project proposals of moderate scope outside their immediate area of expertise and/or contributes to project proposals of broad scope.Responsible for influencing group’s or project team’s efforts by constructive scientific critique and suggestions based on awareness of scientific literature.Reputation as an emerging technical leader in field with sustained record of performance and accomplishment.May supervise one or more scientists, proactively developing their technical capabilities
REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Experience:
Demonstrated experience in DMPK in drug discovery/lead optimization arena. Preferably with a proven track record in hit to lead identification and lead optimization process.Familiarity with both in vitro and in vivo testing methods for absorption and metabolism in discovery supportCapable of setting up in-vitro assays in houseAbility to interpret data in the context of early discovery/lead optimizationCapable of method development and analysis of samples with HPLC and LCMSDemonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and utilize that information to help direct the research efforts and critique project strategy to positively impact goals.Ability to integrate with multi disciplinary teams to achieve common goals.
Compensation: 70,000 – 80,000
