VP - Modeling and Quantitative Analysis

FIELDSTONE INVESTMENT CORPORATION (NASDAQ: FICC), a Maryland corporation and the parent company of FIELDSTONE MORTGAGE COMPANY, is a fully integrated mortgage banking company. Fieldstone originates, sells and services non-conforming and conforming single-family residential mortgage loans secured primarily by first liens and retains a portion of its high-quality non-conforming residential mortgage loans to build and manage an investment portfolio. We are currently searching for a Vice President - Modeling and Quantitative Analysis.

Modeling and Quantitative Analysis


Summary of Objectives:

Assist Portfolio Manager with quantitative analysis of REIT portfolio and competitive market place to support asset/liability management, risk management, and business development.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Assists the Portfolio Manager with the development of Cash Flow and Credit Modeling capabilities for:
A. Portfolio construction
B. Execution of hedging program effectiveness
C. Execution of financing/securitization program
D. Analysis of loan performance
E. Portfolio return attribution/estimation of risk adjusted returns
F. Competitive analysis/benchmarking
G. Housing market analysis
H. Forecasting for business planning/scenario analysis

2. Cash flow modeling.

3. Model and critically evaluate financing/sale structures for best execution.

4. Execute cash flow modeling of portfolio and structured financings, including scenario analysis that varies interest rates, prepayments, defaults and losses.

5. Use portfolio modeling system that integrates hedge position to enhance risk management.

6. Credit modeling

7. Analyze credit and prepayment characteristics of mortgage loan portfolio.

8. Perform competitive benchmarking of portfolio performance.

9. Provide actionable feedback from analytics to inform product development and risk-based pricing.

10. Assist EVP, Investment Portfolio, with the development of proprietary credit model.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience is required. Master's preferred

2. Minimum of three years of portfolio experience.
