The Unit Risk Manager-Refund Anticipation Loan, is responsible for ensuring that all risk management and compliance practices applicable to a specific or multiple units within the business division are implemented, tested, and adhered to. Serves as the advisor to ensure that the Business Unit Management is proactive in the Risk Management arena and in turn, holding all leaders and employees in the Business Unit accountable to appropriate Risk standards. Performs as a liaison between Risk Management and the Business Unit to ensure that the appropriate regulatory and internal risk management requirements are current and that there are effective controls to prevent losses, financial reporting errors, and regulatory violations in accordance with all risk tolerances established by the Board of Directors. Ensures that all employees within the division receive the appropriate risk training to fulfill their responsibilities. May also manage other departmental employees who are responsible for Risk Policy, Risk Processes, Procedures and Reporting, and/or Project Management. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or applicable major field OR any combination of education, experience, or training. Minimum of five-seven years of experience in risk management in a financial services environment. Three to five years of experience within the specific Business Unit (i.e. Trust, Retail Lending). Ability to work in a consultative manner with the Unit Business leaders. Extensive experience with compliance, operations, risk assessments and banking policies and procedures PC proficient with knowledge of MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines within the institution. Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
