Title Officer I (Senior)

First American National Default Title Services, services the default real estate market by producing foreclosure and REO title products for lenders and loan portfolio servicers across the country. We are seeking a title officer to function in our centralized National Default Title division in the following capacity:
Examine and analyze recorded documents posted against the legal description of a parcel of land
Examine name search documents of the assessed owner(s) and other names relevant to a title search.
Determine ownership, and how interest is held on title. Examine surveys and other environmental land use concerns
Research and examine court opinions, case abstracts disclosed through a search of the federal, state or county database for underwriting consideration
Report the condition of title based on the examination of the public records by offering an abstract opinion to underwrite the title report or commitment of title. Advise lender and attorneys on status of title
Advise and educate customer account managers to better understand matters of title
Conduct title training for title examinersQualifications
Candidate will work closely with our Chief Title Officer and must have the following qualifications:Minimum of 4 years experience examining title as well as a general knowledge of the foreclosure process as it relates to matters of title
Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required
Excellent oral written and verbal communication skills are necessary with all levels of clients, title vendors and employees Must have ability to write detailed correspondence, effectively present information to all levels of management
Demonstrated ability to handle diverse responsibilities and problem solve
Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook), Internet search capabilities and electronic file managementBenefits
