PRIMARY PURPOSE: To be responsible for technology activities for major client/business areas; to define, plan and coordinate information technology solutions including overseeing client projects of a highly complex nature; and to initiate and provide leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on client issues in the development of a technology environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembles technology project team and assigns individual responsibilities; identifies appropriate resources needed; and develops a schedule ensuring timely completion of project and meeting deadlines. Consults with regional and client managers to analyze business system opportunities and client technology requirements; formulates system plans and directions to effectively address those requirements. Prepares business plans as required to properly assess projects and determine priorities. Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all systems and client/business area issues in the development of a technology environment which meets current and anticipated business requirement and objectives. Works closely with systems development and support groups; assists in the definition of project scope and objectives and in the preparation of project specifications; and assists in establishing priorities and communicating status on assigned projects. Participates in major business process re-engineering activities; develops tactical and implementation plans for system initiatives that support or enable the changing business processes. Maintains a thorough understanding of the supported business functions, processes, emerging technologies and system capabilities. Participates in new business opportunities as a technical support member by responding to RFPs and participating in sales presentations. Prepares and conducts presentations of systems' capabilities, features and functions for existing and prospective clients. Creates proposal materials dealing with system capabilities and client custom requirements. Is a key member of the post-sale implementation team. Develops and maintains good business relationships with business vendors. Supports the Total Performance Management initiative. Travels as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations. Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions. Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Licensing:
Baccalaureate degree in a computer science related field from an accredited college or university preferred. MBA and/or professional designation in risk management field preferred.



Experience: Seven (7) years experience managing or directing large scale system implementation projects within the claims management industry required. Systems consulting or technical sales support experience preferred.

Thorough knowledge of workers' compensation, disability and managed care case management processes and requirements. Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
