Job Description:

This position is responsible for ensuring proper recording of entries for accurate financial reporting, maintaining general ledger internal control procedures, while also assuring balance sheet integrity by maintaining various daily and monthly general ledger reconcilements.

Specific Duties Include:
Monitor and understand student loan entries to the general ledger
Manage accounting for purchase loan portfolio
Ensure proper accounting for personal property and real estate taxes which includes accurate accruals, timely payments, and reconciliations
Maintain general ledger master reconciliation list and communicate to departments other than finance
Maintain current documentation of general ledger balance sheet accounts
Verify prepaid assets are being amortized accurately
Monitor construction on process entries and transfer to fixed assets when complete
Ensure that customer’s tax deposits are being sent to the Treasury and resolve issues timely
Provide back up for other accounting functions
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of accounting training and/or one to two years accounting and/or three years general bank operations.
