Staff Accountant summary:
Our client, a non-profit organization in the Washington DC area, is currently seeking a grants Staff Accountant for a temporary to hire opportunity. This individual will be the liaison between the Project Managers and Development staff and the Funders. This individual will also need intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and will be tested!!
Staff Accountant is responsible for:
Reviewing related grant check requisitions.Maintaining finance department grant files.Preparing annual and quarter grant reports (i.e. SF 269, SF 272, 263, etc.).Performing draw downs and billing, monthly reconciliations on grants.Preparing grant allocation entries and following up grant inquiries.Qualified Candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with a minimum of 2 years grant management experience. Essential Skills and Characteristics:
Strong written and verbal communication skills and solid analytical skills are a must.Must be detail oriented and have high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.Requirements:
