Sr. Underwriter/ Credit Manager (MORTGAGE ONLY)

Seeking a flexible sub-prime underwriter to help the office grow. Experienced candidate must be a dependable team player and have the ability to underwrite 5-7 loans per day. Strong knowledge of multi lender guidelines preferred. We are willing to consider a candidate with "A" paper experience coupled with a make sense underwriting philosophy.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for communicating loan decisions to brokers and sales team.
Underwrites, processes and manages loan submissions received from sales force.
Approves loans to assigned limits.
Manages data entry, closing and funding functions to maintain services standards (supported by processor and funder teams).
Responsible for completeness, accuracy and salability of the funded loan package.
Maintains current job knowledge of underwriting and processing policy.
Assists in the management of the closing agent and appraiser networks.
Manages the active pipeline.
Assists managers with the flow of underwriting volume in an assigned area.
Makes final decision on loan approvals/denials
Handles inquiries from field personnel and brokers
Reviews conditions and exception requests
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years in the mortgage industry underwriting sub-prime and/or A paper loans
Demonstrated ability in underwriting mortgage loans with a strong product knowledge
Knowledge of applicable state and federal real estate lending regulations
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of compliance issues
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Decision making ability and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, goal oriented and team player
